  5. The Nova Accounting System (NAS) is a collection of modifiable, integrated 4GL
  6. applications consisting of standard Accounting modules designed for use by
  7. non-accounting personnel, PO/Inventory, Job Costing, and Job Shop Scheduling
  8. applications for small- to medium-sized businesses. Applications are written
  9. with a fourth-generation database that permits a high degree of user
  10. control

  12. General Ledger automatically accumulates data entered in the AP and AR front
  13. ends. Chart-of-account number and source journal are validated on data entry,
  14. and out-of-balance journal posting is not allowed. Audit trail reports provide
  15. full detail for all transactions, and posting detail is preserved for as long
  16. as desired. The chart of accounts supports account/division/department coding,
  17. definable periods, period budget, and prior-year period values. Multiple
  18. companies are supported, as well as up to 100 journals per company. Financial
  19. statements may be printed or reprinted for any period, and formats can be
  20. user-defined to meet a wide variety of balance sheet and income statement
  21. requirements.
